WP_SMF Bridge

Ok,

The most recent script is "WP_SMF version 1.09"

It can be downloaded as a ZIP here, or as a RAR here.

The new Twin plugin can be downloaded here: (make sure your versions match up!)

Instructions are included in the Readme file.

Version 1.09 includes many, many bug fixes, and solves various cookie issues with global cookie handling.

-1.09 Also ensures all users are registered to wordpress in lower-case.

-Users with upper-case letters in wordpress cannot login.  To correct your wordpress user database from

earlier versions, just click on "Repair User Links" and all wordpress users will become lower-case.

Version 1.08 included more bug fixes, including wordpress role control when new smf users register.

Version 1.07 includes some bug fixes for user deletion from Wordpress, as well as some WPMU compatibility fixes.

Version 1.06  finally approaches Full User Integration!  It is capable of communicating with a new Twin plugin, SMF_Wordpress.

SMF_Wordpress is an SMF plugin.  It installs like any other SMF plugin, and does not need to be configured.   HOWEVER:

SMF_Wordpress DOES require WP_SMF 1.06 (The Wordpress plugin) to be installed first.  No other version will work.

Please let me know how this works for you!  I can always be contacted in one of the threads below.

Note! Version 1.06 and higher CAN integrate previous users with the bridge! PLEASE BACKUP YOUR DATABASES if you choose this option, as this feature is brand new and untested!

Updates include:

SMF->Wordpress integration in Twin Plugin (new to Version 1.06)

Existing User Integration (new to Version 1.05). Will integrate previous users from either SMF or Wordpress to exist in both and link properly.

Enhanced Admin Panel (new to Version 1.05). Better Access to existing Theme Integration Features and the Readme file.

An Admin Interface under Plugins->SMF.  You can configure the plugin from here, and it replaces the need for copying Settings.php.  I will work to bring more features to this interface.

Corrected User registrations and profile edits, so the correct user is updated, rather than the one logged in. Also ensures that Wordpress will not register a username already taken by smf.

Version 1.04 is the first version that has all basic features (including user deletion) fully functional. Also completely compatible with WPMU.

Additionally, Version 1.04 now checks SMF registration methods before adding a user. If SMF is set for Admin Approval, the bridge will respect this.
